Corryard Launch Penthouse Showhome

Crieff Builder and Developer, Corryard will be launching their Penthouse show apartment which has exceptional views over Crieff and the hills beyond on Saturday 26th November.

The penthouse apartment and Coach House have now been released and Corryard have certainly left the best to last. The two-bed penthouse apartment is exceptionally large, with a total floor area of 125sqm, offering spacious open plan living with south facing balcony for the occupants to enjoy the views of Crieff and the hills beyond. The kitchen/living space is enhanced by a Bulthaup Kitchen from the B1 range, which was designed, supplied and fitted by Cameron Interiors in Glasgow. The room is filled by natural light from the sash & case windows and skylights with the finishing touch of a wood burning stove.

The 2-bedroom apartment has 2 wet rooms, one of which is en-suite. The materials for the wet rooms were sourced from Switzerland and are a made from a unique waterproof Epoxy resin which is poured on the floor and sealed on the walls in brilliant white to make a completely sealed wet room. The wet-rooms are then complemented by Dornbracht Rain Showers in nickel platinum. The apartment comes with a private garden, allocated parking space and secure external storage.

If apartment living isn’t for you Corryard also have a 2-bedroom Coach House for sale which has a large south facing terrace with private garden and separate storage space. The interior has an ample kitchen/dining area, utility and sitting rooms. The first floor has 2 bedrooms and an en-suite wet room.

The stunning Victorian mansion once served as a boarding house for Morrison’s Academy and has therefore created a lot of local attention. John Burke, Corryard Managing Director commented “We’ve been thrilled with the interest in our Dalmour apartments, with 2 of the properties sold off plan. The location and traditional Victorian exterior of the building has proved very popular. We have also found that our clients are finding the apartments economical to run, this is due to the insulation of the building coupled with our under-floor heating throughout.”

Corryard are well known locally for the sensitive redevelopment of older buildings winning the Federation of Master Builders Award for Best Large Renovation in the UK in 2010 for their Locherlour Mill project and then in 2013 winning Conversion of the Year in the Scottish Home Awards and Best Renovation in the Herald Property Awards.

The open day will also be an opportunity for prospective clients to hear about Corryard’s Knowehead House development in Perth with prices starting from £235,000 which will be released later next month.

The Penthouse apartment is currently on the market for offers over £295,000 and the Coach House at £325,000. The show home will launch with an open day on Saturday 26th November 10am – 1pm or viewing by appointment via Irving Geddes Tel 01764 653771 or further details are available www.corryard.com

Eskgrove Homes Eco-Credentials in the Heart of Pitlochry

Posted on November 5, 2016 at 6:00 AM

Edinburgh based property developer Eskgrove Homes has launched the show home of their latest development, Ballenlochan, in Pitlochry. The development of 10 bungalows has 2 property types – the 2 bedroom Moulin and the 3 bedroom Kincraig. By combining exceptional materials and simple, elegant design, these homes offer an outstanding, modern living environment.

To understand what is unique about an Eskgrove home, you have to go back to the start of the build process and how it’s different from other new build homes. Each home is built using a closed panel timber frame system, rather than basic timber frames. The closed panel timber systems are structurally and thermally engineered to Eskgrove’s exacting standards and requirements, delivering outstanding thermal performance. All materials are very carefully sourced and combined with the precision of their assembly under factory conditions, the result is more accurately built homes than offered by traditional means. Eskgrove’s build process is highly engineered to give home owners a super insulated, energy efficient home of unrivalled build quality!

Along with the energy efficient building system, each home is heated using an air source heat pump making it efficient to run and the extra insulation and air tightness of the exterior walls and roof in each home means that the heat stays within your property, further reducing your heating bills.

The extra insulation isn’t just in the external walls to ensure heat doesn’t escape; it’s also in the internal partitions throughout the house, making them denser and more acoustically insulated ensuring you have peace and quiet in every room.

Along with all these eco features as standard, Eskgrove have also concentrated on the design and elegance of their homes. External materials include clay roof tiles, proprietary render and natural timber cladding. This theme of elegant simplicity continues in the interior of the properties starting with the ceiling heights of at least 2.7 metres which immediately add to the overall sense of spaciousness. This is further enhanced by a striking open concept with a spacious living room, dining area, sun area and kitchen. Bedrooms and bathrooms have also been designed with maximising space in mind.

The 2-bedroom show home, is a Moulin house type boasting an internal space of 934 sq ft. As you open the front door you are greeted with a large hallway which leads you through to a spacious living room, dining area, sun area and kitchen. The kitchen has been handcrafted Ashley Ann Kitchens and is complemented by fully integrated appliances including induction hob, oven, dish washer, fridge freezer and washing machine.

The master bedroom with en-suite has fitted wardrobes. The additional bedroom has also been designed with maximising space in mind, this also includes the family bathroom.

Each property has a private garden and visitor parking along with spacious interiors with the 3 bedroom Kincraig measuring 974 sq ft and the 2 bedroom Moulin measuring 934 sq ft.

Colin Cumberland, Managing Director commented “This is our first development in Perthshire and we’re thrilled by the response we’ve had. Our style and method of build is truly unique and a change from the standard new build. It’s such a pleasure to have our customers delighted and enthusiastic about their purchase of an Eskgrove home. Our vision is to create homes which give you better tomorrows. We don’t want our home owners to buy a brand-new home, only to find out in 10 years’ time the building technology used is antiquated or obsolete and their fuel bills increasing each year. At Eskgrove we build homes not just for today, but also for tomorrow.”

With all these eco features as standard, you could say you are future proofing your new home. It’s not just for today, it’s for all those tomorrows too.

Prices at Ballenlochan start at £249,000. Viewing by appointment or the show home is open every Sunday from Noon – 4pm. For further details on Eskgrove Homes please log on to www.eskgrove.co.uk

Are Bleisure Trips the latest Staff Incentive?

Posted on June 14, 2016 at 11:10 AM

During the Summer Months More and More Staff Extend Business Trips with Leisure Time

Despite what most people think, business travel was never designed to be enjoyable! Travellers find themselves rushing from airport, to taxi to meeting to hotel, an overnight stay and then you have to do the same thing all over again the next day in reverse. Before you know it, your back at your desk in the office, having visited a city but not seen any attractions or culture.

In 2014, Skift published a report on Bleisure and since then the term “Bleisure” has been a hot topic for businesses and the business traveller. At the time as many as 83% of respondents said they used time while away on business trips to explore and enjoy the city they are visiting - it was a real eye opener for businesses and it has since become clear that bleisure trips will continue to grow.

Travel Management Companies are seeing increasing amounts of clients extending their trips and bleisure is fast becoming a way of life for the business traveller. Many see extending their work trips as a perk of the job. The flip side is leisure travellers continue to work while on holiday (when was the last time you left your work mobile at home while on holiday).

Franc Jeffrey from EQ Travel Management commented “We find that when a business trip is extended with family or friends, the burden of travel is lessened and can make employees more willing to travel in the first place. We also have clients advising us that bleisure trips can be advantageous to the company as a whole, with staff gaining better knowledge of a city and its culture being good for business.

With all this in mind, it’s evident that bleisure travel is very much becoming part of the business travel world, but how is it managed? Many SME’s corporate travel policies don’t allow for grey areas such as bleisure. The biggest questions are – who pays for the extra nights’ hotel accommodation and the flights home?

This all goes back to having a clear and concise travel policy and making sure it covers bleisure activity, otherwise extending business trips for bleisure would have to be decided by management on a case by case basis and you run into the danger of a member of staff feeling aggrieved that their bleisure trip isn’t paid for while another member of staff is.

But, as a business, what do you need to consider?

First of all – if your staff re on business they would have to fly home anyway, so we would always advise that travel policies state the flights home are paid for by the business, as long as there is no substantial increase in price.

The accommodation costs are usually the main issue, however we find these are usually negated by cheaper "off peak" weekend flights ie flights on a Friday night busy business routes, usually come at a premium, whereas on a Sunday afternoon they these flights are cheaper, most businesses are happy to offset this cost on the extra hotel nights’ hotel accommodation cost.

Businesses also finding that airmiles and hotel loyalty schemes are playing their part in bleisure travel as travellers use airmiles or points to fly their partner to join then or extend their hotel stay.

Staff are increasingly expected to work harder and travel more. If you can create solutions that allows them to play hard at the same time it can add to the work life balance motivating them and in turn make them happier and more productive, which of course helps the bottom line.
